From Sketch to Prototype
Explore the proposal, specification drafts, and prototype for a pet-sitting web platform. See what is defined before development, how the scope evolves, and what the proposal includes.
From Concept to Defined Scope
Costs and phase durations follow the proposal. Draft and final specifications are included in the same analysis phase; the figures are estimates for this example, not a general package price.
Initial Concept & Sketches
PetSitter Connect connects pet owners with local pet sitters. The initial materials introduce the idea and illustrate a possible user interface before requirements are defined.
Project Proposal
The proposal sets out four paid phases, their deliverables, and an estimated five-week schedule. Its payment terms are 50% upfront and 50% upon delivery. The figures below reproduce this example proposal.
Business Analysis & Specification
The first draft defines user roles, user stories, requirements, and the proposed architecture. The final document is version 2.0, dated October 2, 2025. It expands the functional requirements with inputs, outputs, preconditions, postconditions, and exceptions. Both documents describe a web-based MVP.
UI/UX Design
The proposal allocates this phase to wireframes and visual mockups. The specification identifies the main screens: search, sitter profile, booking form, inbox, and admin panel, with a responsive, mobile-first web interface.
Interactive Prototype
The proposal allocates this phase to a clickable prototype demonstrating navigation and interactions. Explore the linked web prototype alongside the specification to see how the screens represent the intended user flows.
Feasibility & Time Estimation
The report dated October 15, 2025 assesses the proposed MVP, architecture, risks, and team needs. It estimates 18–22 weeks for the broader development project, assuming a dedicated team of 4–6 people working full-time. This is a separate estimate from the five-week specification, design, prototype, and assessment proposal.
What the Documents Define
The web MVP covers registration, sitter search and profiles, bookings, messaging, reviews, and admin management. The documents give a development team a shared description of user roles, workflows, functional requirements, and the proposed architecture to review and estimate.
MVP scope and future releases
Payment processing, native mobile applications, and premium listings are listed as future expansions. Mobile-first design here means a responsive web interface.
